Vatican cardinal admits to Africanveil, its just men sharing their pleasure not homosexuality

25 Mar 2009- Milan, Italy- Please share with us a bit more on how life is like in the Vatican, who’s does the woman’s role and who’s wearing the trousers.

Cardinal- It’s not easy to be in our position, life is as normal as others except that there is a lot of commitment. Most people outside must think that we are all gay, no, that’s not true, we do have encounters with men but that does not make us gay.

Ndanji- So how do you describe yourself?

Cardinal-  I’m just a cardinal that’s committed his life to God and does his work honestly in the Vatican.

Ndanji- Please tell us more about the practice of homosexuality or what you call encounters in the Vatican.

Cardinal- Well personally I feel there is need for everyone to have satisfaction at some point. We are men and we do have encounter around. It’s not always practised within the Vatican.

Ndanji- So how do you meet these encounters?

Cardinal- It’s very easy, the world has changed so much that the internet provides most of the information one would need when it comes to meeting others. A lot of gay guys in Italy use internet, so that’s the only way we get to meet up with our encounters via the internet.

Cardinal- I personally tend to go out of Roma, that way it’s much safer and you don’t raise suspicions around. Milan is the best city to go and explore with others and it’s more modern and easier when it comes to meeting encounters. Most encounters in Milan are always prepared to take on clients, so you don’t even need to go asking around.

Ndanji- Do you pay to these encounters every time you meet them?

Cardinal- Yes, you must realise one thing, these guys are always discrete about their clients. They are honest about it and they become regular encounters. So just to make sure everything is all under control you got to pay not only meaning that they keep their mouths shut, but appreciating them that I can always feel free when I come to meet them again.

Cardinal- It also depends on what kind of service you are getting too, some guys would offer you an hour and protected or unprotected fun, that also depends on what you want and if it would be worth paying for.

Ndanji- Do you have unprotected sex with these encounters?

Cardinal- Yes I do, I’m catholic, I end up paying more for unprotected sex, and these boys offering that they know that they will make more money on unprotected sex. It’s best to have it without condoms. I’m sure a lot of men are aware about this and if you asked me if there were many cardinals doing that I would say most of them do that because it’s only natural.

Ndanji- You are aware about STDs diseases not only that, but also HIV/Aids, are you not concern about that when you are having unprotected sex?

Cardinal- I’m very much aware about the epidemic, the whole Vatican is well aware about it, but please you must also take into consideration that, a man makes a decision by breaking the rules at times. I’m sure even you have had unprotected sex before…, I’m not scared of that and I have always tested negative all the time I have gone to have a check up.

Ndanji- Surely this must be a dangerous game you are playing, you talk about change but yet you won’t use condoms even when you are aware about the epidemic, don’t you think that’s being evil?

Cardinal- I might not know exactly how to answer that, all I can say is that I’m catholic, you know how us catholics are when it comes to condoms, I don’t believe in condoms, but if ever one of my encounters suggests that I use condoms, I would respect that only because he has asked. I would only carry one just in case my encounter asked, but these are regular encounters I have and they are aware about most cardinals not using condoms.

Ndanji- So there must be a lot of homosexual practice inside the Vatican isn’t it?

Cardinal- Well first of all, the entire outside world, must also know that we are humans, we have feelings and we are bound to make mistakes and learn from them.  Answering to your question, homosexuality is not practised, its just men sharing their inner feelings of their pleasure, but if the outsiders want to call it a practice of homosexuality, that’s entirely up to them.

Ndanji- So you mean to say the practice is the same but it’s not called homosexuality?

Cardinal- Yes, one thing you will notice about Italians, they are very much private about what they do especially when it comes to sex. There are married men that do practice with other men, that does'nt make them gay. You must also realise that not everyone at the Vatican has male encounters, there are others that practice it with women too.

Ndanji- So what’s your advice to the young ones that are coming to serve at the Vatican?

Cardinal- Let me tell you, these new comers, they are well aware about the practices in the Vatican, its not that we have to teach them no, they just have to find the ones that they would like to practice with inside or practice it from outside. As long as they don’t practice it openly to the public and turn the Vatican into a play ground they will be ok.
