Cheryl Tweedy Was
“Devastated” About Gay Rumours

Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy has spoken for the first time about last year’s
accusations that her husband Ashley Cole was gay.
In an
interview with OK! magazine the singer, now obviously referred to as Cheryl
Cole, said: “He says it does not hurt him when stuff is said but deep down I
know it must do. To be honest, it is more devastating for me than it is for him
because I love him and I know what he is going through”.
Ashley
Cole won damages from a newspaper in June last year over the accusations that
linked him with a DJ. Cheryl added: “He is such a nice, genuine person”.
This is
the same Ashley Cole who left Arsenal for Chelsea, when his former club’s pay
deal of £55,000 a week was described as “taking the piss”.
