Same-sex versus nuptial vow source: Daily Sun ![]() 19 Jan 2006- The gradual widespread and legalization of gay marriage around the globe in recent times have truly shown that gayism is no longer a joke that should be discussed in passing, but a reality that lives with us today, and requires serious examination this time, in order to be placed in the proper and rightful scheme of human affairs. And with over 700 gay couples that exchange marital vows towards the end of 2005, around united kingdom, after the government has given a go ahead order to such union, many around the globe got the news in different lights, and that had thereby seems to have made gay marriage a debatable issue that now lacks clarity and proper judgment. The question is whether same-sex marriage of the gays or lesbians could have had any justification and yet, the world for a long time now had oppressed and blatantly refused this crop of human beings the freedom to full expression of their feelings and emotion the way they deemed fit, like every other humans? Or, is it that gay was misunderstood hitherto, as truly normal and natural human feelings? What then could have been the cause of the recent change of attitude towards gay and their union? If the feelings of the gays and lesbians are normal human feelings, why should it be treated with scorn and rejection by the world in the first place? The proponent of same-sex marriage have always had arguments to support their claims and rights. They have maintained that the feelings are in-born. This is to say that they were born with sexual feelings of attraction to their same-sex and as such, can not help it, for that is how they found themselves on coming to life. Moveover, they have insisted that gayism and lesbianism are as old as human emotions–––the feelings which have been from the ages and practiced – but the people had remain silent due to its wrong perception by the society. Furthermore, they maintained that if the global world is really determined to champion the much-talked-about human right and committed to foster free humanity as it should, same-sex absorption and recognition in human society stand as its true test. Also, since they are truly attracted to their same-sex they deserved to be given a space in the world since, it is not of their own making to live with such feelings and emotion. But how right and sound gay arguments are depend on their ability to pass through moral, social, spiritual and psychological examinations. It is very necessary that claims such as these, and which is seriously gaining acceptance in societies are not allowed to thrive unexamined, but requires juxtapositions with all the necessary standards for certification of true and ideal life. To start with, what moral ground do proponents of same-sex marriage have to convince the rest of us that such union is not wrong and senseless? It is believed that man is naturally imbued with sense of right and wrong or, good and bad, and such knowledge stems from how nature has presented itself to him. We found in life male and female genders in their different natures, perfectly fashioned with provisions necessary for their union and copulation, and above all, sexually attracted to each other. And such provision have been for the consummation of love in coitus and procreation. But where some people feel sexually attracted to their same-sex against the provision of nature and ascribed the feelings to nature, shows that something is wrong somewhere. It is either that they did not understand themselves or, that they had a poor conception of nature. Socially, the two opposite sex of man and woman at union, have always been known and referred to as husband and wife, the appellations which are adrem to their nature and role in life. How sensible and right same-sex union appears in the public, be it either men or women in such a crazy knot, really needs to be provided a space in the right reason. What is the role of the second party of either partners, and how would they be referred to, which will correspond with their nature and role that is being played in the union. Same-sex marriage makes hell of nonsense when man is considered as a spiritual entity. In the first place, the spirit is responsible for the formation of male and female bodies, and as the bodies are designed to carry out their materials functions, the spirits have higher task in maintaining balance and harmony. In this the coarse male specie needs delicate female qualities to complement it. Besides, marriage is not a social pact as same-sex proponents would have it, but a spiritual union which finds fulfillment when complementary souls of opposite sex are united in vows to take their path jointly as husband and wife. The role of male and female in this union are not the same just as their spiritual qualities are different. While the male has much to do with provision of earthly needs of the family which engages the intellect and vitality of the spirit, the female support the male and ennoble her environment through her caring, love and the activity of her delicate intuitive perception. More importantly, the claim by some gays and lesbians that their feelings are in-born may not be untrue, but how come about such abnormal feelings is what they still do not understand. This ignorance is rooted into their understanding of life generally. The consideration of one earth life, whereas, men of the present time have had many earth lives behind them, is the confusion that makes knowledge impossible here. It is often in the course of reincarnation that a soul, who must have brought disorder to his nature in the previous earth life, is born to discover such abnormal feelings. The natural laws which are where Divine will is anchored at work in their automatic effects, and ensure that what you give is what you are to receive. Hence, the admonition, “whatever a man sows, that he shall reap.” For instance, in the course of a life time a woman gets inclined to men’s activities internally or externally, just as it is customary today in sports, and order deformable engagements, she stands the risk of harming herself on the process. |
