Man caught with gay sex toys at Lusaka international airport

08 Apr 2007- Zambia- Jimmy tell Africanveil of his embarrassment at Lusaka int airport when he was asked to open his luggage for a routine check.

Having had to go and spend his vacation abroad, jimmy thought of spoiling himself on sex toys. ‘I had a lovely time and was looking forward to getting back home after being on the plane for over 10 hours.

Upon arrival I never thought I would be asked if I had anything to declare but for some reason I now ask myself if I needed to declare my sex toys. When I opened my luggage the office went through with gloved hands and took out my pleasure toys.

At first I thought it was embarrassing but then it turned out to be a case, they had to look at every different dildo I had and asked me to explain the difference, I had run out of words, my mouth was dry, then one other officer said we should go to a separate office where they were going to search me as they thought I had more things to hide.

I had never been humiliated in my life, no one has ever asked me to explain the difference between dildos and how they worked and why different colours never, not even a sales person where I bought them explained anything to me. Any way when we got into this office they now searched my again and found Lubrication, flavoured condoms and room Odorizer   ‘Poppers’.

I was asked what business I was doing and if I was married, If I was married they also wanted proof and I told them I was not a business man and was single, then one officer a comment saying ‘Yakumbuyo’ meaning to say behind business, it’s a very common term used for gay people, and the other office said if it was a woman with these things it would be ok.

Then I realised that they knew I was gay but my main concern was how was I going to get out of this mess, knowing the law in Zambia regarding Homosexuals, I then decided to negotiate with them and by that I mean digging into my pockets for cash so as to get out of there before other officers came in.

I felt so sad that I had to do that because of my sexuality, its sad I know but if you stack in countries with such rules there’s not much one can do apart from just warning my friends out there that are heading this way to be careful that’s how come I had to contact Africanveil about my experience thanks to you all publishing this on the site.
